OUR CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY AND LOVED ONES
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, has died at the age of 74 after a battle with cancer, her family announced on Friday.
"Today, with incredible grief for our loss yet deep gratitude for the life she shared with us, we announce the passing of United States Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of the 18th Congressional District of Texas," her family said in a statement.
“A local, national, and international humanitarian, she was acknowledged worldwide for her courageous fights for racial justice, criminal justice, and human rights, with a special emphasis on women and children,” the statement said.
Jackson Lee announced in June that she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was undergoing treatment.
The longtime congresswoman served in the House since 1995 and leaves a legacy of pushing for legislation related to civil rights.
Jackson Lee was the lead sponsor of the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, and she pushed for the Sentencing Reform Act of 2015, as well as the George Floyd Law Enforcement Trust and Integrity Act.
She sat on the Judiciary, Homeland Security and Budget committees.

If you could change Shameless storylines in a sort of "I'm the master puppeteer and I'm all knowing" kinda way, what would you change? And what would you put in place of those changes?
Example: Mickey not going to prison, since Noel is (contractually) staying in this AU Ian and Mickey don't break up at the end of season 5, what does their relationship look like in S6?
Other ideas: Kev and Vee pregnancy with her mother ends up fizzling out because in the middle of Shameless creating that storyline Shanola got pregnant and would have looked pregnant during filming so the story got changed at the last minute. -> Scrap the mother from the script and let's say that Vee being pregnant was very easy, what would they end up doing that season?
Frank should have probably died earlier, and his death should have been unrelated to either his drinking or his age. Probably after Monica, to add irony I'd say it should happen during his Francis arc, when he was sober so... S8? And actually show the Gallaghers dealing with it.
All the early romantic interests should have stayed longer and been even more fleshed out as characters beyond their relationship to their Gallagher, there's a reason ppl remember the early relationships so much more than the later ones, the Milkovich, the Jackson (as much as I don't particularly like Sheila) and Jimmy and his family are sooo weird and dysfunctional and interesting. They should have their own small story arcs every season, also, have them interact with the rest of the family.
Have the actress for S1 Mandy stay the whole show, the energy she brought to the character is soo different, if her version of the character had stayed and had still ended up with Lip I feel like she would have threatened to scalp Lip with a smile on her face before ever turning her anger and desperation on Karen.
Also, her incest/abortion arc is either treated more in-depth or it should get scrapped completely. It's NEVER brought back and it's probably one of the darkest details of S2 that really feels out of place especially in the early seasons.
I'd define the Milkovich family more: how many brothers? How many cousins? Names? It sure was convenient of the writers to just say that the Milkovich themselves don't know how many siblings and half-siblings they have so that they never have to keep them straight and they can appear and disappear and spawn new ones whenever the story requires it.
I really liked Bonnie, Carl's first crush, would 100% bring her back at some point.
Since this is an "I'm an all-powerful being making these decisions" I'd make Noel start out younger, not necessarily his character's age (Noel had a baby face that wouldn't intimidate a bunny) I'd have him start out s1 at 20, so that he can still convincingly play young in the later seasons.
Not sure what I'd change of Debbie's storyline, I'd probably bake hints of her being a lesbian basically every season and have her realize it earlier than in canon, probably bring out Sandy seasons earlier than they did.
A bit less Frank, definitely less Sheila scenes (sorry to anyone that likes her, I just don't).
A lot of those plotlines that involved a single character that ended up fizzling out without going anywhere replaced with a joint storyline with Kev and Vee or Frank and Monica or another sibling.

Beyond the Farthest Reaches
Hell or High Water - Percy Jackson x DC cross over
“Time Goes By So Slowly”
Summary:
Many thoughts pass through one’s head before death.
Set in the April before “Basking in the Solace of Regret”
***********************************
Sheila Haywood was not his mother.
And Jason knew this. He knew that Sheila was not his mother, she could never be Catherine or Sally, but that doesn’t mean she was never a mother figure to him. Anytime he was out on patrol, she would always make sure to leave snacks and bandages out on the fire escape by her living room window. Some nights she’s wait out on the cold metal steps, wrapped in some kind of knitted blanket and talk with him. Asking him about patrol and his schooling, wondering if he was eating enough at home to make sure he had enough energy when he went out at night.
Maybe it was the familiarity Jason had developed with her that had led to this situation. Maybe it was selfishness of wanting a mother after loosing two so close in time to each other. He should have stayed content with what he had with Bruce and Percy, with the memories of Sally and Catherine.
If he had, then maybe he and Sheila wouldn’t be trapped in a warehouse rigged to blow in twenty seconds.
Jason doesn’t remember much of Sally, she had died when he and Percy had just turned six and three, respectively. The avenue they were driving down had gotten blocked by some of Two-Face’s men that had a rivalry with some of Penguins’ men. Sally Jackson was not a native Gothamite. She had grown up in the tiny apartments of Harlem with her Uncle before he passed, worked like a dog at the candy shop to provide for her two sons that she loved dearly, and was only in Gotham because her Uncle wanted to be buried where he was born.
So had Sally lived in Gotham her whole life, she might’ve seen the signs. The premonitions that had led to her death. She might’ve seen the barren streets and grew warry at the lack of sound, she might’ve turned the car around as the first bullet flew—Sally Jackson might’ve survived had she not passed Park Row on her way to the interstate.
What little Jason does remember of Sally was more than Percy had ever known. He remembers the smile on her face when he showed her was whatever it was he had, and the feeling of her arms holding him tight to her chest. Sometimes he could remember the feeling of her hands running through the curls on his head, nails dragging across his scalp that would slowly lull him to sleep. If he was lucky, on the days where he was sick with fever and delusional from the medicine and sweat, he could hear her voice humming the lullaby she sang them both to sleep with.
The words of the song long since forgotten and the melody was slowly joining it, but some days it would resurface. The main part on replay in his head, stuck on loop and taking over whatever it was he had been thinking about.
Catherine sang to them, too. And though her songs were in Spanish and her voice was higher that Sally’s, the songs never failed to put them to sleep. Percy would take over the space of Catherine’s chest, laying his head above her heart, pressing his ear against her to hear the beating of her heart and feel the vibrations of her chest. But Catherine would pull Jason tight to her side, he head laying in the empty space Percy couldn’t fill, and he would drift off to the sound of the sound of her voice.
Catherine was not his mother either, but she was more of a mother than Sheila was. When she wasn’t high or passed out on the thin and dirty mattress. She cared for him and taken care of him as best as she could with what little they had. Made sure they had warm clothes and a roof over their head, but even back then, Jason knew that she was more of a mother to Percy than she was to Jason.
And at the time, Jason preferred it that way. Sally’s death was still fresh in his young mind and he didn’t want to have the memories of her be wiped clean ns replaced by Catherine. But that doesn’t mean Jason hadn’t cried when Catherine didn’t wake up one morning, when her body was cold and her heart wasn’t beating and her brown eyes were staring into space and lifeless. Because whether Jason liked it or not, Catherine had been his mother and his mother had died once more.
He grunted in pain. The pain shooting up from his ribs left him breathless and aching. Blood covered one eye and hindered his vision, no doubt aiding the swelling that bloomed around it as well. His arms burned as he lifted them to the handle, muscles screaming as he turned it but found that it had been locked.
They weren’t leaving the warehouse.
Jason faced Sheila. She had been tied to a chair, gaged with a rag, and hadn’t been beaten as badly as he had. If it weren’t for Jason, she would still be alive. Sheila would be in her home, reading the new book she had told him about, waiting on the fire escape for him as she always had. She wouldn’t know that he had been taken by the Joker and wouldn’t know how he would die.
“I’m…sorry,” Jason wheezed. The last bit of air in his lungs squeezing through his bruised trachea hurt, but it didn’t hurt as much as the way his ribs expanded for air again. Shuffling the broken and bruised one from her spots, sending jolts of agony up and down his body.
Sheila cried as she shook her head, as if to say that her death wouldn’t be his fault. But it was. If Jason hadn’t grown attached to her in the suit, then Joker’s men wouldn’t have noticed her, they wouldn’t have lured him halfway across the world, they wouldn’t have tied her to a chair in a building that was going to blow in five seconds.
Four.
He wondered if Bruce was coming to save him. If maybe is dad was speeding through the small town just half a mile away, desperately trying to reach him in time. How could would be get? Down the street? Right outside? He knows that they haven’t exactly been on the best of terms lately. Him not trusting Jason after Garzona’s fell, Jason becoming a little bit more violent with his attacks, breaking the rules and not listening as he should. But he still hopes that Bruce cares enough to come for him.
Three.
Would Dick miss him? Would Alfred? Alfred would, Jason tells himself. He would be upset that Jason wouldn’t be there by his side in the mornings to help with breakfast, wouldn’t be there to challenge him at chess or help in the gardens. And while Jason and Dick didn’t get along well, the older a bit upset that he had taken over a Robin, he hoped the guy would mourn him a little. Jason had always been a big brother, it was nice to be a little brother for once. Even if the older brother didn’t want anything to do with him.
Two.
Speaking of little brothers, Jason hopes Percy would be able to move on quickly after his death. He wouldn’t want him to stay stuck on Jason’s death. His little brother was full of energy and smiles and Jason does not want that to go away. And Jason mourns, not for him, but for the fact that he won’t be able to see Percy grow up. He wont see him go to high school and graduate. Wont see him go to prom and go on dates or just hang around the manor anymore. Jason wont be there for the awkward growing stages. Of gangly limbs and breakouts and cracking voices, when his humor would be a little bit more immature than it should be and he was willing to dumb stuff because it was fun.
One.
Jason was going to miss his family more than anything.

BREAKING: According to multiple sources, the following message is circulating the internet.
"A verified source has informed the Global Press team that Joe Biden is currently in hospice care and is unlikely to survive the night."
Never forget, 1 week ago an assassination attempt was made against Donald Trump. The Secret Service was complicit, the FBI was complicit, and as Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said in the Congressional investigation today, Sheila Jackson Lee was heavily involved in controlling the Secret Service. Jackson Lee suddenly died days after the failed attempt on Trump.
For months, Biden was adamant about continuing his presidency and refusing to drop out of the 2024 election. Then, staunch liberal democrat Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and several other high profile liberals proclaimed yesterday that Obama's shadow presidency and elites in the democrat party are mounting a massive coup against Joe Biden. Some in the media repeated these claims. Shortly afterwards, we hear that Biden has COVID-19 and has been isolated in his home and all future appointments are cancelled.
Then, on ordinary white paper, with no presidential, white house, or campaign letterhead or seals, an apparent resignation alleging to be from Biden, says he is resigning from the 2024 campaign, appears on Biden's social media page on X. His sole support for Kamala Harris to take over the campaign also appears in this letter on Joe Biden's Twitter (X) page. There is nothing in the letter about the current presidential administration.
What's even more shocking is, not one single Biden staffer, including his own chief of staff, was aware of Biden's intentions to drop out of the race. They collectively flood social media in shock saying they had no idea Biden was going to drop out and they only found out with this letter on Biden's social media account. What's more is, Biden's signature on the letter has been compared to his actual signature and it has publicly been called a forgery. It's a bad forgery at that. Multiple media personalities and politicians have said they don't believe the letter is real and are demanding proof of life from Joe Biden before they accept this alleged resignation from the 2024 campaign.
There is one main point noticed in the following hours. Many democrats fall in line to support Harris. However, Obama DOES NOT support a Harris campaign and publicly states THEY will decide who the candidate for the democrats will be for the upcoming election.
Then, a video surfaces showing someone that looks like Joe Biden but has several distinct differences, claiming he is stepping down from the 2024 election campaign. It is obviously pre-recorded as it does not address several key questions about the legal process to turn over a heavily funded campaign for Joe Biden to Kamala Harris that were raised immediately after the letter appeared on his X account. And Kamala is hundreds of miles away, already on her own campaign trail, when she gets an alleged phone call from what sounds like Joe Biden. It is aired at the campaign event for the audience to hear.
In that call the conversation doesn't quite match up, there appears to be friendly banter between Harris and Biden but then the truth comes out in a slip from Harris. She says she knows Joe is still there in the "recording"...then catches herself halfway through the word and says "the call". She acts all lovey dovey but they talk over each other for a moment then the "call" ends. The audience goes nuts and they believe Joe has given his blessing to Kamala.
But...another incident occurred yesterday that set all of this up. We found out yesterday morning, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) had received paperwork from Kamala Harris during the last few days changing the 2024 Biden Presidential campaign to the 2024 Harris Presidential campaign. The entire $46 million in Biden's campaign funds were taken over by Harris and her campaign.
Summarizing the past 48 hours:
2 of 2
https://x.com/thereal40_head/status/1815647586721911275?s=46
Biden's 2024 campaign account on Twitter was changed to being a Harris campaign. Elon Musk immediately suspended the account, apparently because no legal documentation was presented to show the right to change the account.
All this time, with all of this activity, there has not been one personal appearance of Joe Biden. Then, just hours after the alleged phone call to Harris' campaign event, Biden's doctor announces Joe is just fine, healthy as ever, and only self-isolating as a precaution. Meanwhile, nobody is in charge of the country. Nobody is in the oval office. And then, just an hour later, reports emerge that Biden has been placed on hospice care and is so ill that he is not expected to make it through the night.
Somebody or a lot of somebody's, are flat out lying. Joe Biden is either dead or close to it according to numerous staff rumors. Harris takes over the campaign but it's not legal because donations were being made to Biden, not to Harris. If Biden drops out the funds are either supposed to be returned to the donors or taken into a Democrat party fund. They are not allowed to just immediately go to Harris. And, there appears to be an internal power struggle between Harris' group and the Obama shadow presidency. No matter how you look at it...
...there is currently a coup in place to take over the office of the president of the United States by elites in the democrat party. I doubt we'll see the actual Joe Biden again. What's more is, there's been no talk of any emergency sessions of the House or the Senate to decide on the 25th amendment proceedings, no talk of swearing in Kamala and again...nobody is in charge at this very moment.
There's multiple other issues going on. All air space over Delaware was temporarily closed. Communications from Deleware have been restricted and certain cell phone communications in the area were temporarily cut off. And then there's the surfacing of a 2022 presidential executive order apparently signed by Biden that is now circulating that shows Joe Biden delegated numerous aspects and authorities invested solely in the President, to members of his cabinet and chief of staff which would effectively prevent anybody from taking over if something actually happened to Biden. Top it all off with the fact that Hillary Clinton is being seen as the most likely candidate that the Obamas will appoint to take over the democrat bid for president.
Kamala is illegally using democrat party funding to campaign with right now and has illegally taken control of the FEC filing for the Biden campaign. No democrat party meeting and decision has been made by the party to grant Harris the right to use the money donated to Biden, nor have they given Harris permission to take over the resources that were set aside for the Biden campaign.
It's a huge mess folks. The democrat party is imploding. At least one very real coup is in taking place as I write this post. And Americans are not being told the truth by anybody at this point. It's only been by leaked information and by people just like you and me, searching the FEC database and looking at the act being played out by Kamala's team and Obama's team. And the whole time, Joe Biden is completely absent with word that he is not expected to live through the night which also means he will not be able to inform the American people about what's true and what's not, who will be running in 2024 and more importantly, who is actually in control of the country right now.
Is that really what you approve of? Is that what you really voted for? Are you ok with your party plotting coups against its own? Are you ok with democrats hiding the president of the united states from public view and presenting pre-recorded and even faked AI videos and pre-recorded faked phone calls?
When is enough going to be enough?

“Maggie Roe” (USA 2023)
“Maggie” was a Texan woman who underwent a legal abortion in March of 2023. As Texas laws unambiguously permit, the abortion was meant to save Maggie’s life or health. Unfortunately, it killed her instead.
Maggie’s case and the data surrounding it, though no less of a tragedy, illustrates the following:
• abortion intended to save the life of the mother is legal in Texas and DOES get approved
• Texas abortion laws reduced maternal abortion deaths and abortions overall
• abortions done with intention to save the mother’s life can still do the opposite
While Maggie’s death was undoubtedly a tragedy, Texas laws restricting abortion prevent other women from dying like she did. Texas abortion bans have been found to dramatically reduce overall rate of abortion (even including those traveling out of state to circumvent the law). It was thanks to these laws that Maggie’s death was the only known maternal abortion death in Texas in 2023. Although data reporting for the 2023 period is incomplete (as of February 2024), 49 abortions were approved and done legally with the intention to preserve the life and/or health of the mother. All were done in hospitals, where the resources were present to have the best chance of treating complications— and the conditions that endangered lives in the first place.
(However, it is strange that abortion would have been chosen or recommended over an induced delivery or C-section in any case past the very early first trimester. An abortion at that stage would take multiple days and put the patient at further risk, while delivery would be immediate and allow the treatment of both patients.)
Those who died of legal abortion in Texas before the overturn of Roe v Wade include Denise Montoya, Maureen Espinoza, Jammie Garcia, Latachie Veal, Dorothy Bryant, Virginia “Genie” Lynn Wolfe, Sharyn Graham, Vanessa Preston, Mickey Apodaca, Junette Barnes, Glenda Davis, Sheila Watley and Louchrisser Jackson. Today, Texas bans on abortions not ruled medically necessary prevent many others from dying the way they did.

Sheila Jackson Lee, the longtime U.S. representative from Texas, has died, according to a statement issued Friday night from her family.
The congresswoman died at the age of 74 after a brief battle with cancer.
"With incredible grief for our loss yet deep gratitude for the life she shared with us, we announce the passing of United States Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of the 18th Congressional District of Texas," her family said in a statement.
"A local, national, and international humanitarian, she was acknowledged worldwide for her courageous fights for racial justice, criminal justice, and human rights, with a special emphasis on women and children," the statement continued.
Rep. Jackson Lee announced in June she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
"She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all who believe in freedom, justice and democracy," her family said.
The democratic Chief Deputy Whip and member of the Congressional Black Caucus served in Congress for almost 30 years. Most recently, Jackson Lee reintroduced the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act in May.
Jackson Lee, who represented Texas' 18th District, which encompasses parts of Houston, won a primary election this year to regain her seat.
Born in Queens, New York, the congresswoman attended Yale University and the University of Virginia School of Law. She relocated with her husband Elwyn Lee, a law professor, to Houston where she served as a municipal judge from 1987 to 1990. She served in the Houston City Council before running for a U.S. House seat in 1994, defeating then-incumbent Rep. Craig Washington in the Democratic primary.
The congresswoman was a senior member of the House committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security and Budget.
She authored and was the lead sponsor of the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2021. The law introduced the first new federal holiday -- commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States -- since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was adopted in 1983.
She also authored legislation to reenact the Violence Against Women Act, which had expired in 2019.
Jackson Lee unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Houston in 2023.
“It is with the deepest sadness that the Congressional Black Caucus has learned of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee," the Congressional Black Caucus said in a statement. "We are holding her husband, Dr. Elwyn Lee, her two children Jason and Erica, and the entire Lee family in our hearts and prayers during this extremely difficult time."
"Today, the city of Houston and the House Democratic Caucus mourn a giant, the one and only Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee," Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in a statement. "Congresswoman Jackson Lee was an inimitable force for change and a warrior for justice over the course of her historic, trailblazing career."
President Joe Biden said the congresswoman was a "great American" who was "unrelenting in her leadership."
"Always fearless, she spoke truth to power and represented the power of the people of her district in Houston with dignity and grace," Biden said in a statement Saturday.
She is survived by her husband, two children and several grandchildren.
